ICT Coordinator: I have maintained the role of ICT Coordinator in the Faculty of Education since 1999. The role is complex, and duties have changed from year-to-year, but the following summarize some of the key activities of the position.

  • supporting faculty and students in their use of technology in their teaching;
  • providing guidance on technological purchases by administration, faculty and students;
  • providing advice and leadership to the technicians in the Education Computer Centre;
  • serving on committees at the University that are related to technology, pedagogy, and future directions of technology;
  • planning, advising and visioning on the long term integration of technology in faculty services (e.g., website, student counseling) and academic programs;
  • meeting with technology representatives and salespeople;
  • pricing, comparison, and ordering of computer equipment & software; and,
  • planning and ordering of technologies for Smart Classrooms.

Assistant Director – SIDRU: From July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2008, I served as the Assistant Director of the Saskatchewan Instructional Development and Research Unit under the supervision of Dr. Michael Tymchak. The following is a short list of my administrative duties over the two-year term.

  • Provide assistance to the Director (of SIDRU) in all aspects of project development, research design, and liaison with 3rd party/clientele;
  • Lead and fulfill selected research contracts as researcher;
  • Supervise and write research ethics applications related to SIDRU projects, as required;
  • Reconnaissance and development of new research contracts, in consultation with the Director;
  • Represent SIDRU at various meetings/venues, as requested; and,
  • Participate in SIDRU staff, faculty, and research team meetings, as required.
